about

In the small town where Li’l Andy was born, there’s a tall hayfield that slopes beside the new residential lots across the highway. At the edge of the empty lots, a bright sign reads, “New Homes are available in Stonebrook Acres.” Andy’s dad remembers when the highway wasn’t paved and the nearby drugstore was a farm.

"Home in Landfill Acres" is a requiem for the country home that its writer has left behind, scored in a lonely echo of fiddle, Telecaster and pedal-steel guitars--13 songs lamenting the disappearance of the countryside, mourning the homes we all leave behind.
